Bharti Airtel Overview

For their customers most of them come from India with 375 mn coming from India but they have a good split with 140 mn coming from Africa and 55 mn coming from Bangladesh and 3 mn coming from Sri Lanka. Their sector is supposed to be one of low risk as there is a lot of customer obsession with laptops and electronics and stuff like that. They are trying to build and extensive network infrastructure and have done so and they have also made on to roll out their 5G services. Their one Airtel strategy is working and in fy 23 they saw their highest ever amount of network sites rolled out. They are one of the largest network providers in Africa and want to fortify their position. They are also one of the largest network providers globally. They are looking to premiums their base and their models of Airtel black and family are going to bring that to live. They are also trying to roll out their 5g network as fast as possible and they have already done that in 3500 cities in less then 8 months. They are number one in post padi SIM cards and they have an offering for the whole world with their Airtel world pass. Fy 23 23 was a good year for the Indian telecom sector with the launch of 5G. Their 5G solution is based on the most widely used one and it offers one of the lowest total cost of owners. Airtel has been investing into the digital sector a lot and have been partnering up with some other enterprises which are into other sectors and helping them with their 5G disruptions. This means that they can hope that their revenue stream starts to et a bit diversified. During fy 23 they added 23 million more 4G customers and 1.8 million prepaid customers. There is already 31 million 5G mobile enabled phones on airless network and this number keeps on growing. Their digital tv system has also been gaining market share despite all the headwinds. Investing in data centers and undersea fibre cables and with the new tech on the rise gives an exciting opportunity for Bharti to capitalise on. They also have a lot of digital assets such as the first co branded card between them and Airtel. Their other digital offering have also been seeing monthly users growing by 4x over the last 4 years to becoming 200 million. They also have partnerships with a lot of the big brands like Amazon which are also delivering good results. Their is also going to be a shift in how they access the 4g and 5g network from normally like cloud based to automated and orchestrated and Airtel has been building the tools to make sure that they can serve this. They have managed to pay of most of the debt on their African side as this was a priority because of the volatile prices. 90 percent have their CapEx has gone into investments to build up their 5g and 4g infrastructure. They release of 5g is again a high growth opportunity for Airtel tpo grow as it is estimated that 5g is going to increase Indias GDP by 2 percent. Airtel also made a bold choice of going with the non standalone instead of standalone 5g and his has helped them avoid a lot of expensive and still gains customers. On Broadband they continued to gain customers and added another 1.6 million customers. They also increased their B2B business. They have a Stream box which is basically like an Apple TV and they have introduced that also to diversify their portfolio. For mobile services they offer a range of pre paid and roaming and stuff like that.  For home services they fixed line telecom services and broadband services. For companies and enterprises they offer fixed line voice solutions, data connectivity and various things like that. They also offer cloud portfolio products and some pay as you go products. They are currently investing into submarine cables, fiber connectivity across the country, private cloud, and Data Centers for our enterprise customers. The companies war on waste programs allows it to access a lot of things like for instance they paid for 5g for the 4 years payment upfront. The global industry and economy is on a good recovery trajectory. Despite all the geopolitical tension the Indian economy is better suited and is expected to witness robust growth in the coming years. Over the last few years the Indian telecom sector saw major consolidation with 3 private players and one government owned entity taking control of the sector. The telecom industry is one of the fastest growing with their operators also extending their coverage to rural India and closing down the gap in between of the 2 economies. Rising demand for data in households because of the amount of devices means that their is a lot of room for these companies to grow. Africa economy is kind of like Indias in the sense of underdeveloped and rising with urbanisation which means that there will be a higher need for all these electronics and stuff like that. Summary. Bharti Airtel is a company that mainly provides telecom services in India and in Africa and a bit in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Their main offerings are data and roaming and wi fi but they also provide telecom service. They have released a product like Apple TV that is showing good acceptance. They also have other digital products like a music player and stuff like that. They were on of the first to roll out 5g services. They second business is B2B which is when they help various enterprises with their data connectivity and stuff like that. Personal thoughts. I think  this is going to be a fast growing sector with the rapid development of india with lower class coming into middle class and with the amount of devices per household always increasing their is always a demand for more network infrastructures in their house.
